You can now customize your access to MesoWest. After you create your unique user account, you can store, load, and update weather profiles that will allow fast access to the weather information of interest to you. Look at current weather conditions or save past weather conditions and redisplay them later. You can easily share by email your profiles with others.
We do require that you provide a valid email account if you would like to use the My MesoWest features. Read our privacy policy for details, but we will never forward that information on to others. If you decide to not create an account, all MesoWest products remain completely accessible, but the functionality of some features are constrained.
You will notice a number of other improvements based on feedback from users:
- download up to 30 days of data from any station (downloading 24 hours of data remains available without an account)
- display all data within a radius of 300 miles and display NWS stations within a radius of 450 miles (limits of 150 and 300 miles respectively are available without an account)
- use the Search feature on the top bar to enter an address or location and then see weather conditions in that vicinity
- access to 1, 3, 6, or 24 hour precipitation totals on the surface weather maps
- streamlined access to all map and tabular products through a common menu structure
- center the surface weather maps on a station of interest to you
- display information from only NWS stations in all products
- use a RSS feed to monitor weather at locales of interest to you
Other MesoWest applications have NOT gone away and will continue to be supported. If you are used to seeing the tabular station format for a given region, you can access that product by selecting "Current Weather Summary" in the above main menu and clicking the Go button. We did remove one type of map display that could no longer be supported.
We look forward to hearing your comments as we increase the usability of our applications. Feel free to send us email at MesoWest. You may also want to read our Help pages on how to get the most out of My MesoWest.
